Continental breakfast in The Goodenough Hotel London

Family, Bed in The Goodenough Hotel London
The pleasant single hotel room overlooking the park across the road was a little bigger than I expected and had all that I could want, including an adequate desk to work at. Also, importantly, the bedroom and bathroom were very clean. The hot breakfast is served in a different building (continental breakfast served onsite) and there was some confusion as to whether I would get the hotel discount price or not (I did, but had to argue the kitchen manager for it), but the breakfast itself was good. The hotel is on a quiet road and in an excellent location in Bloomsbury, about 10-12 min walk from Kings Cross / St Pancras or Russell St stations. The Brunswick Centre for food choices and supermarket is also about 10-15 min walk away. The Harrison Pub, about 5 min walk, also does a good meal. Note there is no air conditioning in the bedrooms due to to the hotel being a heritage building - but they will supply fans - so am not sure how the rooms would be in summer. I like that the profits of the hotel go toward supporting the Goodenough College (established in 1930 by Frederick Craufurd Goodenough) to provide accommodation and community to postgraduate students, largely international students with limited means. I will definitely stay again. Overall, I loved the hotel and the Bloomsbury area.

We stayed for a week. The staff was very kind. The room was nice, with a good size. Tha bathroom was also very convenient. Very good heat system. The hotel provides breakfast - but it is better to choose (same price - breakfast providing by the hotel) in the nearby univerisity hall (that has a very traditional surrounding, wooden decoration, large hall) where the sense is so nice. Internet connection was also excellent. The area is quite enough, in front to a large athletic park - closest Tube station is Russel Square in 7 min walking distance (but also there are 2 other stations in 10-12 min) and some buses as well.

The location couldn’t be better, a 10 minute walk from Russell Square, 15 minutes from the British Museum, in a lovely and safe-feeling area. The staff were also great. Contra to some previous reviews, they carried my luggage both to and from my room and were consistently friendly and helpful both before and during my stay. The pluses in addition to location: The bed is comfortable, the duvet very soft, and the rain shower head was wonderful. There is also a refrigerator in the room, a rarity for London hotels and very appreciated. Would definitely stay there again even though a bit pricey.

The staff stood out to me. They were so accommodating and efficient. The location was in a lovely part of Camden, London. I took the Piccadilly Line from Heathrow directly to Russell Square and then walked 10 minutes to the hotel, extremely convenient. Uber pickups at the hotel were similarly convenient. I will stay here every time I return to London. Also, being able to eat breakfast, lunch and dinner at GoodEnough College across the street from the hotel was a great plus; the student staff there were equally friendly and welcoming.

Quiet location, despite being only a 12 minute walk from Kings Cross. The bed was very comfortable, the shower was lovely and the breakfast was vast, good quality and served with a smile. The room was decorated nicely, the staff were helpful and friendly. Enjoying breakfast in the Great Hall was especially lovely, the college courtyard and buildings are very pretty, and the square immediately outside the hotel is quiet, relaxing and full of green paraqueets.
